Where to eat in the Sierra de Madrid near Collado Villalba

3 October 2026 · Bingo Villalba · 2 min read

Restaurante Sala in Guadarrama

The Sierra de Madrid is famous for its grills and its produce. These are two of the best-known restaurants in the area, both a few minutes from Bingo Villalba.

Restaurante Sala, in Guadarrama

Opened in 1976, Restaurante Sala is famous across Madrid for its grilled prawns, which many people drive up to the mountains just to try. The menu also offers Castilian cooking and seafood. It is in Guadarrama, next to the A-6 motorway, about 10 minutes by car from Collado Villalba. It gets very busy, so book ahead, especially at weekends.

El Gallinero, on the road to Navacerrada

In a stone and wood house on the edge of Collado Villalba (Navacerrada road, M-601, km 0.6), El Gallinero is a mountain favourite for grilled food: meat, fish and roasts to order, with seasonal Spanish cooking and views of the mountains. It has a children's play area, so it is a good choice for a family meal.

Before or after your meal

Both restaurants are close to the best things to do in the area: the monastery of El Escorial, the Navacerrada pass or a walk around Guadarrama. And to round off the afternoon, Bingo Villalba, Honorio Lozano 14, is open every day from 12:30 with bingo, slot machines, electronic roulette and sports betting.

Bingo Villalba is an in-person bingo hall at Honorio Lozano, 14, Collado Villalba. Open every day from 12:30. Over-18s only, with ID card, NIE or passport. Please gamble responsibly.
